Meet The Pioneer RFC Committee

We'll be introducing you to our Pioneer RFC Committee over the coming weeks, one at a time so please check back to learn more about the great people at the helm of our Club! These are the people who do a lot of work behind the scenes of the club and without them the club would not be what it is today.

First up is our Club Captain Tim Crowley.

Warning do not approach or engage conversation with if he has done a string of night shifts.

Highly argumentative, can be heard yelling at people across the room or on the field. Specialist in the club for blister treatment.

Clothing for Tim has been supplied by Pumpkin Patch NZ.

Tim is looking forward to receiving his Blazer for 100 meetings at Pioneer. Still a wee way to go yet mate.

Even though he is a relation to our Number 8 Benjamin Hill, we are fortunate enough that Benjamin did not receive the stunted growth gene unlike Timothy.

All jokes aside Tim does a great job for the club. He brings his own perception and unique style of humour. Thank you, Tim for the hours you put in per week to make this club what is.

How your wife puts up with you we will never know.

This week our comrade president for the 2023 year Scotty Egan -

Winner 2021 Club Person Of The Year.

It is known that Scotty spends more time at the club and taking phone calls than doing his actual job. His dedication to the club is second to none and his can do attitude is what we need to steady the ship.

The story behind Scottys nickname "Putin" dates back to last year when former President Chris Wilson came down with Covid. Chris was not seen for at least a month after falling ill to the virus. It was determined that then Vice President Scotty Egan weaponized covid to seize control of the Club.

Fun Fact about Scott. (Tim Crowley is the source)

in 2017 Scott was contracted in with Emirates Team New Zealand for the challenge of the 34th Americas cup.

It was seen and tested that Scotts nose if fitted to a Catamaran could generate 940Hp. They decided not to continue on this venture as it was seen as unstable, and stuck with the standard wing.

All jokes aside Scotty contributes alot of time and effort to the club and what he has achieved in his time as president is much appreciated by all.
